We like flexibility, but we also know that your weight-loss food plan won’t work if you become too flexible. You will need some discipline to make it work. Certainly, it’s okay to eat less than 30 percent fat and more protein, but make sure you get at least 30 percent carbohydrates, mostly from vegetables and fruits instead of starches. Most starches are high-glycemic and cause the body to store fat. Eat starches in very small amounts to avoid this happening to you.

So let’s get real. Let’s use these ratios to examine some really bad choices and some really great choices. You will begin to see how you can enjoy wonderful foods and still stay within the guidelines that will help you lose weight.
